It’s so easy to take the little things in life for granted. Because we live life forward and experience it in reverse, we are most of the time oblivious to day in and day out little things in life. We must learn to be intentional if we hope to recognize and appreciate the little things in life. Little things like the sun rising and setting, making others smile, and watching children play. God calls on us to live a life of love and service in everything we do. It’s easy to want to show up for the main event, but what about all the little things it takes for the main event to happen. How can we inject love into everything we do today, especially the little things? Many blessings come out of experiencing the little things; take time to enjoy the little things today and be blessed.
Lord, thank You for the many things you have provided for us all. Please help each of us be divorced from ourselves long enough to enjoy the little things by taking time to listen to the birds singing this spring morning and watching the forest come into bloom. Enjoying the smell of fresh-cut grass and telling others how much they mean to us. With Your help, we can avoid taking the little things for granted on this beautiful day that You have made. In Your Spirit and Name, we pray these things. May Your will not ours always materialize, now and forever, Amen.
