“Now faith, hope, and love remain—these three things—and the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 – CEB). Of all the attributes of God embedded in humanity, the greatest is the capacity to love. God created humans with free will, and because of free will, we get to choose what, how, when, where, and who to love. Not all of us love the same things, and most love themselves and the things of this world more than they love God, other humans, and all of creation.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness” (Galatians 5:22 – CEB). When we surrender our lives over to God, and the Holy Spirit dwells in our soul, our lives begin to produce the fruits of the Spirit. The love of God pouring through us like rivers into the lives of others is a gift from God. The light that love illuminates makes it the greatest universal spiritual weapon we possess. Love is the ultimate trump card of life and will defeat every form of darkness it confronts. When we use the fruit of love to express our love to God and others, we can change the world.
We are witnessing the slow and painful death of America, which is hard to bear. With all the social unrest, political divide, social injustice, and our enemies plotting how to take down America, it’s only a matter of time before America the empire falls. Why is the happening? Easy, where do you see love in action? When the light of love is absent, darkness lures all around. What can we do about it? Commit to loving everyone and everything, including our enemies. When individuals, communities, States, and Nations love and respect each other, it reciprocates love and respect in return. There is no defense against love; not a single thing can defeat it. If everyone learned to live by the motto “I am going to love you, and there is nothing you can do about it,” the world would change on a dime.
How will you use the universal spiritual weapon of love against the darkness you will face in the world today?
Lord, thank You for being a God of love. Without Your love, love doesn’t exist. We can love because You first loved us. Please help us get out of the way of You pouring out Your love through us into the dark world in which we live. Times are hard and dark, but with the universal spiritual weapon of Love and the Holy Spirit’s power, we can overcome the dark. Please remove any obstacle that gets in the way of our willingness and ability to exercise Your love. In Your Spirit and Name, we pray these things. May Your will not ours always materialize, now and forever. Amen.
