Spiritual Milestones a Celebration of Grace

April 7, 2021 By Harold Long Leave a Comment

“Progress is measured by milestones. What many good people lack are markers that might tell them how they are actually doing. Goals can become a ritual or a fetish, but in the right measure, they can give us some much-needed reference points. No wonder some seem discouraged! Minus such milestones, we often feel minus in our lives” ~ Neal A. Maxwell

When we turn our will and life over to the care of God and genuinely choose to practice spiritual principles in all of our affairs, we start to experience spiritual milestones. If not for the grace of God, none of us would relish such landmarks. What an absolute joy to experience a life where we become happy, joyous, and free, saved from our extreme self-centeredness and the principalities and powers that help fuel our hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Without spiritual milestones, we would have no way to stop and measure our spiritual growth and reflect on the many people, places, and things that have accompanied us along the way. Take time today to reflect on the spiritual milestones in your life, along with all the people who have trudged the road of happy destiny with you. Most importantly, give thanks to God for the countless blessings you enjoy today.

Lord, thank You for our extraordinary lives and the spiritual milestones in our lives. Without Your outpouring of grace, mercy, forgiveness, love, etc., none of this would be possible. Please remove our selfishness and any attempts to rob us of the grace you have bestowed on our lives. In Your Spirit and Name, we pray these things. May Your will not ours always materialize, now and forever, Amen.
