Spiritual Dope
Throughout the ages, humankind has turned to worldly sources for relief, including dope, booze, and other mood-altering substances. The hope was that for a brief moment, the pressures of life would be lessened, and the noise in their head would quiet down. The efforts to experience euphoria through worldly vices are only temporal, and then you have to find more of whatever “it” is in an attempt to stay as far away from reality as possible. Lord, help me stray from worldly things searching for hope and peace, and learn to realize that real hope and peace only come from You; thus, I find You, I will discover real hope and peace.
As spiritual people having been pulled from the junkyard of life, may we be grateful for the hope and peace we now experience one day at a time. Father God, allow me to spread Your spiritual dope of hope to all who are living in the dark and seeking relief from the bondage of _______________. Please fill in the bank.
