Practicing Peace Amid COVID-19

Since late 2019, the world has watched the coronavirus, a.k.a. COVID-19, progress, progress, and progress some more. Politicians blame other politicians; the culture struggles between masks vs. no mask; speculation varies if and when this threat recedes and if a vaccination will really work. In the last twelve months, we have watched over a million people lose their life, others fighting for their lives, and some who won’t know for a long time the ramifications of having contracted COVID-19 if they have fully recovered or not. This pandemic has caused chaos throughout the world and most likely disrupted your life in many ways. Despite all the challenges this virus has put forth, God is still in charge; God is still on the throne. To find peace in the midst of your trials, it will require a commitment on your end to be divorced from the challenges this virus is causing you and turn your attention to sharing hope, peace, love, and joy with others. Lord, I don’t completely understand or accept why evil exists, but I know it does. Please help me step into your will for my life and practice spiritual principles in all my affairs. Grant me the strength to be persistent in getting out myself today and finding creative ways to bless others.

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” ~ William James

Momma Long use to say, “Crisis in Chinese means opportunity.” It is during our trials and low spots where we discover what we are made of. The way to experience spiritual peace during COVID-19 is to stop thinking and to start doing. Be intentional today about blessing others during this brutal time in history. Father God, you created me for Your glory, help me believe this, and more importantly, start practicing blessing others in the same way You have blessed me by sharing my personal hope, peace, joy, and love.

Shalom,

HALO
