Throughout the ages, the world has been in turmoil. We are experiencing grief over senseless wars, worldwide plagues, disease, and division over the quest for power, property, and glory. Many tears have continued to be shed, hearts broken, and bridges burnt. Day after day, year after year, decade after decade, and century after century, we study this history and experience firsthand the trauma evil leaves in its path. How have human beings survived all this time? Will this cycle ever end?

History teaches us that those who survive and live life to the fullest put their faith and trust in a power greater than themself. For kingdom people, this power is the Trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Throughout the scriptures, we study how generation after generation found peace and wisdom by seeking God’s understanding of life and not their own. If we remain obedient to God’s ways and keep our eyes on the Light, we can persevere and grow in unity. God will have the final say, but until then, our calling is helping Jesus, by being Jesus, to expand the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer
Lord, thank you for being a friend to the lost and broken, the healer of the sick, the provider of wisdom, and the Savior to the world. Thank you for saving me from the bondage of self and for attending to my grief. Thank you for sending Jesus to demonstrate your character and proclaim the good news of the kingdom. I pray that through the transformation of my life, You remain in me and I in You. I ask that You use my new life to be a blessing to many. In Your Spirit and Name. Amen.
