Miraculous Example

February 20, 2021 By Harold Long Leave a Comment

“Nothing can seem extraordinary until you have discovered what is ordinary. Belief in miracles, far from depending on an ignorance of the laws of nature, is only possible in so far as those laws are known.”
~ C.S. Lewis

When you finally surrender your life over to God and bring your will totally in line with God’s, the result will be miraculous. God wants nothing more than to show the world God’s transforming power and eternal love through the demonstration of your life. When the Holy Spirit and God’s Word guard your soul, then your life will represent a faithful example of how to live life on life’s terms. When God does not protect your soul, your soul becomes restless,  consumed with worry and selfish motives. To have your soul protected by God is to have an unbreachable wall to guard against the enemies of darkness.

Scripture Readings

  • Leviticus 11:1-12:8
  • Psalm 25:8-15
  • Proverbs 10:1-3
  • Mark 2:1-28

Reflection Questions

  1. What did you take away from today’s reflection and scripture readings?
  2. How protected is your soul?
  3. What is the peace factor with your soul?
  4. When was the last time your soul felt under attack?
  5. Who is the last person you have been transparent with about your struggles?
  6. What needs to happen for you to allow the Trinity to be your soul security team?

Prayer

Lord, I ask that You protect our minds. Father, the flesh’s mindset is death, but the Spirit’s mentality is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) O God set our minds on You. Let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds that we may prove what Your will is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2) Help us by the power of Your Spirit to think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence, and if anything is worthy of praise, let our minds dwell on these things (Philippians 4:8). In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. May Your will and not mine be done now and forever. Amen.
