Holiday Isolation

The holidays can be a stressful time for many due to a major life change. This COVID Christmas is a time where everyone is stressed due to a worldwide pandemic. Many have lost loved ones due to COVID-19, other illnesses, or accidents. Some people have experienced unemployment or the loss of a business. Others have had to move, while some have had to learn to deal with health issues or possible disability. When struggling, it’s easy to become isolated and experience loneliness in a deep, sad, and depressing way. Lord, give me the strength to face my trials head-on, with perseverance, faith, and joy.

According to www.phys.org, 3 out of 4 people in America are lonely. This study shows it is evenly split between men and women. The good news is that the UCSD study found an antidote to loneliness: wisdom. Wisdom has a tag-team partner called optimism. Father God, help me search your Word and resources for wisdom so that I can experience freedom from the bondage of isolation and loneliness. Please give me the courage to reach out for help, and turn this holiday season from one of pessimism to optimism.
