Gym Time For The Soul

May 6, 2021 By Harold Long Leave a Comment

“Life is your art. An open, aware heart is your camera. A oneness with your world is your film. Your bright eyes, your easy smile is your museum.” ~ Ansel Adams

If you are like most people, you are conscious of the importance of staying physically fit, but what about staying spiritually fit? How committed are you to stay in a fit spiritual condition? What good does it to run 5 miles if you suffer a breakdown due to spiritual disease? It’s imperative to treat your body like a temple, but you should not lose sight that your body houses your soul, and your soul includes your mind, emotions, and will.

Spending time in the spiritual gym and working out your soul leads to the best life possible. Being liberated from fear, resentment, depression, anxiety, etc., produces peace and serenity. Exercising your spirit stimulates joy and creates the adrenaline necessary to survive the trials and low spots during the circle of life. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, please take your spiritual health seriously. Spend ample time in prayer, meditation, spiritual conversation, small group study and accountability, community worship, mentorship, and spirit-filled with passionate praise music.

Lord, thank You for the life I am privileged to live. Please grant me the willingness and stamina to finish the race strong by staying spiritually fit so that I can continue to love You and others and help change the world. In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. May Your will not mine always materialize, now and forever. Amen.
