Chosen Yet Frozen

March 27, 2021 By Harold Long Leave a Comment

“People do not seek God. They seek after the benefits that only God can give them. The sin of fallen humanity is this: Humanity seeks the benefits of God while at the same time fleeing from God themselves. We are, by nature, fugitives.” ~ R.C. Sprouls

Humankind did not happen by chance. Any honest scientist will tell you that all creation is so complex, so exact, and so complete that intelligent design must be responsible for creating the world and all living creatures. If this is true, which is hard to argue against credibly, then that means God created you. God chose you to be alive, in this world, at this moment. Because of free will, you have a choice, pursue God for selfish reasons only, or choose to meet God where you are in life (with all your hurts, habits, and hang-ups) and allow God’s Spirit to enter into your heart and transform your life.

There are no auditions, no tricks, no hoops to jump through, come as you are, and say yes to the One who created everything. How could anyone ever think their design for living and life approach could be a better choice than the design for living given to us by the Creator of the universe? God says “yes” to you, even when the world says “no.” It’s time to get unfrozen, choose God and God’s design for living, and watch the world change before your eyes. God’s promises always materialize if you die to yourself and accept God’s invitation to live in God’s kingdom. God has already said “yes,” now will you?

Lord, You chose me because You are good, not because I am good. Thank You for choosing everyone, even though many reject you, and some don’t even believe You exist. Please remove any desire for the things of this world and the obsession with others’ approval. In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. May Your will not mine always materialize, now and forever, Amen.
