Barriers To God’s Grace

There are many trials and low spots we experience throughout our lives that become barriers to receiving God’s grace. The biggest barrier of all is our free will. God allows us to have a say-so in the choices we make for ourselves. The freedom to choose has taken us down many wrong turns in life and allowed for barriers to come between God and us. Barriers like alcoholism, addiction, resentment, fear, victimization, racism, hate, rotten attitude, etc., are only a few of the barriers that keep us separated from God and each other. When we are spiritually cutoff, we missout on the hope, peace, joy, and love that can only be experienced by plugging into God’s amazing grace. Lord, I have made many poor choices that block me from You. Please remove those barriers and grant me the willingness to welcome Your grace and love that knows no boundaries into my life.

What barrier is so insurmountable as silence? ~ Marcel Proust

One of the major barriers in life is the submission of silence. A person can be silenced, people can be silenced, and an entire country can be silenced. People are coerced into silence all the time by the powers at large controlling their lives. If one of the barriers in your life is that you have been silenced, please reach out for help, so your voice can be heard. This plea to speak up goes for all individuals, groups, classes, and even entire populations where their voices are suppressed. Silence can not be defeated unless voices are heard, and voices can only be heard if given a platform. Father God, I pray for all those whose voices have been silenced. If there is a means by which my voice can be a voice for those silenced, then let Your will not mine be done.
