$19,000 Tip

January 24, 2021 By Harold Long Leave a Comment

Robert Peters from Tipton, Indiana, has been delivering pizzas for 31 years. He just received the biggest tip he could ever imagine receiving. The tip was much larger than your standard 15-20%; it was a brand new car valued at $19,000.00. Peters has been delivering pizzas and legendary service for over 31 years.

The good people of Tipton, Indiana, decided to bless Robert Peters, and bless him they indeed did; they put together a fundraiser, raised $19,000, and surprised Peters with a new car. “I couldn’t believe it; it’s almost like it’s surreal,” said Peters. He had been driving a 1993 Oldsmobile, and the community surprised him with a brand new Chevy Malibu. If you hope to receive a BIG TIP, then maybe moving to TIPton, Indiana, could be the right move. The pun was definitely intended.

Robert Peter’s story blesses anyone who hears it because it’s a love story. It’s God’s love story. This story exemplifies what it means to love your neighbor. The community grew to love Robert Tipton over the last 31 years because of his commitment to serving the community and his integrity. Peters went to any lengths to make sure you received your favorite PizzaHut pizza, and always gave you the exact change; he never assumed the excess was his tip. His only desire was to serve and make people happy; the money took care of itself.

People scratched their heads about why someone would choose to deliver pizzas for 31 years while better-paying jobs were available. For Peters, it made all the sense in the world. If you have a blessed life, then be a blessing to others. God doesn’t bring people together and only bless one of them; everybody wins when the story centers on loving your neighbor.

You don’t have the power to make rainbows or waterfalls, sunsets, or roses, but you do have the power to bless people with your words and smiles. You carry within you the power to make the world better. ~ Sharon G. Larson

Lord, thank you for the life of Robert Peters. His example of a selfless servant is something we can all hope to aspire to become. Thank you for his loving community, an example every community can learn to imitate. Lord, help me discover ways to bless people with the blessings you have been bestowed on me. Thank you for my life and the opportunity to live a life of love and service. In Your Spirit and Name, I pray these things. Amen.
